4/23/01 - I'm mainly starting off this entry to begin a new entry page. It's Monday (yuck) and everything's kinda going ok so far. Mary's complaining about everything left and right, but she's doing it with a smile on her face (weird, huh?).
My weekend was pretty slow and uneventful. Didn't go to Thunder over Louisville, but watched it on TV.
I emailed this guy who runs a "Ghost Photography" Site Ontario, Canada and pointed him towards my pict. Just to see what he thinks (I need the opinion of someone in the field), but I haven't checked my mail yet to see if he'sresponded or not.
I have a couple of sites planned to day, but nothing big. If I get bored and think of more stuff to write I'll come back to this entry.
4/24/01 - I've never slept more peacefully than I did last night. I have a friend to thank for that. I didn't even get to bed til around 12:00 PM, I woke up feeling great.
Tonight's "Buffy Night" (am I sad or what), so Charlotte and I will stick together tonight. Although I'm still debating on who's house. A friend of my mother's is in the hospital waiting to undergo surgery and Pat's pretty upset about it. But Charlotte wants to come over to excercise tonight.
4/30/01 - Last day of the month. Charlotte's Prom was Friday (which was pretty fun), and Saturday night we called it quits as a couple. Someone else got in the way and I haven't been taking it very well. Last night was the worst. But somehow I managed to get a few hours of sleep in.
After some modifications to the site this morning surrounding the awful occurances from the weekend I've noticed how small the "Pictures" section has become. Should I just remove it? Would anyone even notice?
"Change is the only constant it the universe", I keep trying to remind myself that. With that in mind I've decided to look for a new job out-of-state. Somewhere close to the ocean, but not anymore crowded than Louisville. Whether I get these bills payed off or not I need to get away from here. I might be able to survive the summer here, might not, but these memories are killing me. So many good relationships destroyed because of my indecisiveness. So many people hurt.
We'll just see where I go from here.
5/01/01 - It's Wed and not much has changed. I'm meeting up with Charlotte tonight to discuss things, and I have some things to tell her that she didn't already know. The two of us will never get back together, even if she could I couldn't... Not with the things I've done behind her back. I do love her, but she deserves someone a lot better at taking care of a woman than I am.
I've continued my search for a new job out of state. Yesterday I scoured North Carolina. Today? Who knows where I'll look.
I've also started to design a new ship. Something to keep my mind busy. It's different from my usual designs, and I don't have a name for it yet. I started out building it in my head and shortly after moved it to paper as a "rough draft", next step is to put it in 3D.
5/04/01 - Charlotte and I made up last night. I'm hoping to spend the weekend with her. Tonight we'll see the Mummy Returns, tomorrow is camping at Deams Lake.
I haven't had a chance to work on my new ship design lately. Things have been busy at work. School's out today but I still have a ton to do.
Blah...
5/10/01 - I would say that I've been too busy to work on this Journal lately, but I'd be lying. I guess I've been negleting it. Don't know why though.
Susan's last day with the Board was last Friday, and things have been boring since. I haven't had a chance to talk to her since then. Even when I have time to call I'm afraid. Usually this fear is justified for some strange reason. Who knows... I'm gonna try to call her Friday night to see how her training's going. I've really missed her in just this past week...
Charlotte and I are still together, although it's not the same as before. Her eye's are finally starting to open up to the world around her and it's causing her to comtemplate things a lot of the time. I went through that period too, and it hardened me up, preparing me for things that would happen later in my life.
That's life, I guess. I feel sorry for being the one to force her into it first.
My Department's Award Gala is tonight. I'm not really excited about it, but I'm trying to appear as though I am for my co-workers.
Phillip made me a copy of Ray Dreams Studio (3D Animation Software). The company went belly-up so I'm not worried about mentioning our copying it. I'm loving it! I already made a couple of movies involving the new ship I'm designing (The U.S.S. Hope, a Guardian class Cruiser). I'll probaly create a new section for it and the movies I created later. I've already put a rendered pict of it in the 3D Pictures section (made it in Hamapatch).
5/15/01 - "And on the third day Keith rested..." Lazy, huh? I think so, but then again, I truely don't care. :-)
Charlotte and I are doing a lot better. Last night we took a trip on the Bell of Louisville with her Senior Class. It was kind'a noisy for my taste (who knew seniors could seem like such little kids), but yet, kinda enjoyable at the same time. I used a whole roll of film and will prob post the picts at a later date.
The movie (which'll probaly end up being about 30 seconds long in the end) I've been making of the USS Hope made good headway through the weekend but I haven't been able to work on it since Sunday night.
I talked to Susan yesterday morning (or afternoon, I forget. She called me at work), but I still haven't seen her since she left the board. Last night I found out that every one of the pictures that I took on our last lunch didn't turn out (the film never caught and rolled). I was so upset and pissed I almost cried. Those pictures and that day really meant a lot to me.
5/17/01 - Well... I'm broke again. Yesterday I ran over a nail in the road and had to buy two new tires for Lil' Rex. They were almost bald anyway so it was for the better I guess. But IF I make this month's bills it'll be close. I hate that! So I'm scrounging for extra money where ever I can.
I only have one scene left in my short movie involving the USS Hope. Then I'll add sound and move on to something else. I'm hoping on finishing it up this weekend. We'll see how it goes.
5/23/01 - I really don't feel like writing today but I've had a couple of acomplishments lately.
The USS Hope short is done. It's 7 MEGs long compressed to DivX;-), and the sound isn't all that great, but I like it.
I'm finally starting to learn JavaScript. I haven't tested it yet, but on paper I seem to understand it. I'll play around with it later on.
Buffy got herself killed. The series finale was last night (after only 5 years, which I'm still pissed about) so they killed her off. Angel lives on though (not technically speaking of course).
Star Trek Voyager ends tonight so I know where I'll be from 8:00 to 10:00.
6/01/01 - Not much has been happening lately. Bonni has left the board to raise her child (I've applied for her position bu it's unlikely I'll get it, so I'm not letting my hopes up).
Other than that I've managed to stay pretty busy at home and work.
I've created 2 new characters, Guy and Buddy, who I plan on using for movie shorts in the future. Buddy has the traditional "Robot" look, but with Guy I incorporated more of a "Cartoonish" look.
My Javascript is slightly improving. I understand the basic theory but I definitly need to learn more. Maybe I'll buy a book eventually on the subject. Using Javascript I've added a new page (a "sitemap") with a form that takes you to different pages on the site.
I've also created a new page where I'll gather together my different writings from years past. So far it only has two, but I plan on adding on as I find them.
6/04/01 - So it begins... Mary's off for the next two days, that leaves Jo and myself (talk about a good couple). I plan on just staying out at sites and everybody else's way.
I had a pretty good weekend. Rented "Men of Honor" and "Volcano". I spent most of my time with Charlotte (which was really nice).
I also worked on the creating the Bridge of the U.S.S. Hope. I have the actual room layed out, just not any textures or lights.
6/12/01 - I don't really know how to start off this entry. I'm feeling slightly annoyed by my nearest co-worker, but I'm not in a bad mood or anything. In fact, I'm feeling pretty good considering that it's still early.
I haven't had a chance to work on Buddy or Guy's Cartoon lately. Although I did do some work on their page on this site. I have a short description on each character and a detailed picture of the U.S.S. Hope w/description also.
Here at work I've been busy loading replacment computers for sites this fall. Today I'm gonna start running them out to their respective places. Maybe actually being out will help time pass.
Charlotte's starting to handle UPS a little better (at least I think so). She hasn't been complaining NEAR as bad as before. I figure she'll settle in there within another week or so. Over the weekend we rented "Finding Forrester" and "Coyote Ugly"... The latter of which really sucked. "Finding Forrester" was ok, Sean Connery really made the movie though (if it wasn't for him I'd probaly had fallen asleep).
6/14/01 - Going to play pool tonight. I figure that I definitly need to get out for a while. I'm becoming lazy in my own right.
I've added 2 new pages to my pictures section. One for Charlotte's Prom and one for her Belle of Louisville trip. As soon as I get mine developed I'll add them to it.
I don't have much else to write about, I'm just taking a break from sorting out our Inventory here in the office. It's not easy... Now that Bonni's gone and we have the chance to truely look at it we've noticed that it's screwed all to hell. Linda and myself are working to straighten it out.
7/10/01 - It's been a while since I've had the chance to update this site. I really need to add to the Drawn and Computer Generated Pictures but I haven't gotten around to hooking up my scanner (It just sits in the basement gathering dust for the time being).
I did however add some pictures of the Newport Aquarium that I took with the Palm-Top. Most of which came out really well.
I haven't worked on the "Buddy & Guy" cartoon for a while either. every now and then I'll chew on a scene with the computer (and then I'll decide to change it again afterward). The decision proccess isn't as easy as it sounds.
7/18/01 - My movie's coming along nicely. Last night I completed the initial attack scene (Two small Fighter Craft knocking the Hope into a gas planet).
My Laptop's on it's last leg. Phillip and Myself are going to attempt a backup of the harddrive sometime in the future.
For now though, overtime's starting up at work so I won't have much time to goof off for a month or two.
8/27/01 - It's been a while since I've been able to play with my site at all.
I'm sitting at home now downloading Beethoven's 5th Symphony and geting ready to update the Visual Basic Testing Grounds. I've been learning a lot lately about that programing language. I've developed a small WAV Mixer and Notepad utility. I'm currently working on a Notepad utility to assist with creating HTML Pages. Pretty much my version of HTML Notepad.
I haven't worked on my movie for a while now, although I still plan on finishing it. Things have just been busy at work and the overtime's been plentiful (bills are getting paid off, so I'm not complaining).
8/28/01 - I still haven't gotten around to working on my movie yet, nor a Visual Basic game that I started a couple of weeks ago, but I did finish my HTML Editor tonight (or at least the first edition of it). I'll post it in the morning.
9/05/01 - Things are a little better here at work (not enough to make me consider staying mind you). Yesterday I created a VB6 program for checking the downloads (while sitting around waiting on repairs to the server), and I revised it today. I'm still weighing the possibility of presenting it to management. I'm afriad that Mary will expect more if I start showing a programmer's skills, and yet I'll still be paid as a clerk.
I spent laborday weekend at Deams Lake w/Charlotte, which was a lot of fun. No Computers, no mother, no pestering...
I'm trying to "think up" a program to run reports on the downloads at the sites from here. It's not easy, and each time I think of something I run into problems.
9/13/01 - Jez... What's the world coming to? Hopefully we'll be going to war soon 'cause I'd hate to think that my vote for Bush was in vain.
I was home sick the day that the towers were hit, so I have most of the live action on tape. I'm putting together a small page from what I personally experienced and I'm only using images that I aquired off of the tv myself... None of the stuff that was edited and broadcast afterwards.
Everybody's trying to blame somebody. People are blaming the Government for "no worth-while intelligence", others blame the airports for letting terrorists get through to the planes (keep in mind that these are the same people who have always complained that airport security was slowing them down on business trips...), some blame the president for not taking action soon enough, and the rest blame countries I've never heard of before. Frankly, I think that we should get the major nations behind us and conquer those countries, destroy any suspected terrorists and share the oil among us. That would lower gasoline prices and give the major nations (USA, Russia, France...) a land to share and build on.
I don't believe we should nuke them... That would destroy everything. We need to land an army or two, storm through the cities, kill anyone who "resists in the name of Alah", and take the land and everything on it for ourselves. We could make the land into "nuetral territory and share the resources with all the nations who helped in the raid.
Anyway... I'm turned Buddy and Guy into a Cartoon "Strip"... 'Cause I never got around to working on the movie again. I'm adapting a rather old joke that Phillip and I created a long time ago for their first appearance.
On the work front... I showed Mary the "Download Lister" program the other day. If she was truely impressed she hide it, but I believed she like it. It has a minor bug, but it's better than nothing.
9/14/01 - Another day, Another dollar...
Last night I completed Buddy & Guy's first Strip, and this morning I posted it on their part of my site. I also post the small "time-line" of the Twin Towers/Pentagon Attack.
I got bored here in the office and also created a Visual Basic program to encode MP3s. I'm tired of download Front-End programs from the Net that don't work correctly. I used L3ENC.EXE as the encoder and "wrapped my program around it". I posted it also.
9/21/01 - This week has been awful. Im writing this on my palmtop so please excuse any mistakes. Ill export it over later. Nimda has taken its toll here at the board. Telecom says itll take a week to get the network back up, I laughed at that, Im guessing more like a month. Ive finished my new "Encoder Front" yesterday. That same night I started a "Decoder Front"... Ill finish that later tonight. Im also seriously considering joining them into a single program.
9/26/01 - Im at Audubon right now. Shes infected with Nimda "Big-time". So far Ive found 60 files infected. Mary and I have tracked all the email files back to Jo Z. Due to an incident yesterday involving her inability to follow directions Telecom has advised against letting her try to clean any more computers. What really gets to me is the fact that she lied right in front of me to Phillip yesterday. In front of 2 people who already knew the truth, and she spent the rest of the day trying to convince the same people she lied about that what she said was correct. Joe E. talked to Mary about her this morning but I havent heard anything yet.?
10/1/01 - I finished my first VB6 game over the weekend. I call it "Star Chess", although there's no way to win it yet, I'll add that in later. What I had really set out to do was to create a game that could read it's stages from a file. That way I was able to create a "Level Editor" to distribute along-side it. I'm not going to post it until I'm completely finished with it, then I'm going to start on my next project... A Submarine Simulation, like "Silent Service" for old Nintendo. 10:23 - So far today I've had 3 schools infected with Nimda. It's taking me "forever" to clean them. I'm going to fix my truck and get rid of my car. I can't afford it anymore, and I need to pay off my bills.
11/13/01 - I finally got around to updated my page last night. Actually... I'll admit it... I was just bored.
I'm typing this journal entry into the page using the "DarkHold HTML Editor" which is pretty much finished. I fixed most of the bugs and inserted better pictures for the buttons. I even gave it templetes that you can access through the menus (only 3 right now, but I might put in more). In the next upgrade I plan on inserting Java Script. Before I post it I plan on making it an icon though.
Not much has happened lately. I tried to switch jobs, but didn't get the one I applied for. I'm trying for another soon. I just want to make more money.
I'm also selling my car (or trying, apparently nobody's buying right now). I'm buying Charlotte's older Cavelier for $1,000. I plan to fix it up since I know for a fact that it runs good.
I also put out a new "Buddy & Guy Cartoon". It's their third appearance. I'm thinking about adding some characters soon. Three just isn't enough.
11/14/01 - I added Some JavaScript to the DarkHold HTML Editor today. Just the Mouseover/out affects and Script Declaration. Since I haven't posted the new version yet I didn't change the version number. I also made an icon and Installation/Uninstall Program for it. I'm debating on adding an "Auto-Save" function for it too.
As soon as I figure out how to create an "Undo" function I'm going to post it.
That's about it for today. Other than that it's been kind'a boring around here.
11/15/01 - Bored!!!!!!!!!!!! That pretty much sums up today. I've had stuff to do today and did it. Now I'm just killing time.
I added the "Auto-Save" Feature to my pet project yesterday. It works nicely. Now if only I could figure out how to make the "Undo Function" and I'll be ready to post it.
3:07 - Figured out how to do the undo function. The only bug is that it resets the cursor to the top of the document whenever you have to undo. Frankily I don't care. I'm ready to publish anyway.
11/16/01 - Added a little more to the HTML Editor today (Making it another whole version). I'm gonna post it real quick because it could cause a problem with anybody upgrading from the older version.
I still plan on adding more... I'm having fun with this program, it gives me something to do during the boring hours at work.
11/19/01 - Haven't done much today (my typing stinks for some reason, I'm not "all here" today).
I've made minor revisions to parts of the webpage (nothing big), and have been playing around with my pet project also.
12/18/01 - I'm sitting here watching Crime.com's jail cams here at work (it's a slow morning). So far I've watched them Book, Search, and put put a guy in the Holding Cell. Now everybody's just standing around filling out paperwork (I guess). It's pretty cool to watch, I think I'll post a link on my site to it.
I've finished two projects lately... "DarkHold HTML Editor SE" and "Origins (The Game)". The latter of which was originally "Star Chess" but I changed it to match a movie I'm working on.
The movie's going to be called "Origins" and includes and USS Arrowhead (Talaxion Corvette) and the USS Hope (Gaurdian class, but I'm thinking of changing the ship's name for this movie). I only have 3 scenes rendered so far (of the Arrowhead from the outside), but last night I created the Bridge Characters in Poser and started on the Bridge Prop itself. I should be able to finish the Bridge tonight if I get bored enough.
