I just recently came into a few expensive Nitro RCs and have been working on getting them back into shape. The working ones are two "HPI RS4 Racer 2's" (one of which I've modded for more everyday use). I also recieved a load of spare parts, and the body, trans, suspension, and wheels for a Traxxas Nitro Hawk that I may or may not restore in the future.
| This is the tool box with most of the spare parts (spare parts for everything including about 5 extra engines, and 4 sets of tires already glued...) There's a tupperware bowl that I forgot to get out of the closet filled with parts also (I haven't sorted through it yet).

| This is the main car the previous owner used in races (there was only 1 first-place medal in the case, so either he kept the others or didn't win much)
|
| Here's the same car. All I've really done up to date has been to change the fuel lines and clean the tank. I want to get a starter for it soon so I don't have to lug around the current starter box.

| I call this HPI Racer the "Clodhopper". I mounted the old wheels from a Nitro Hawk to it and raised to body (it was old and torn up so I trimmed it to support the new tire size). Since these racers are 4WD it performs great on road and off.

| Here's the Clodhopper inside. I added a pull starter so I don't have to lug that starter box around. I had to raise the muffler to get it out've the way of the tires turning radius but that was the only change. Everthing I did is reversable (except the nascar body trimming) if I ever want to switch it back. The tires are backwards on couple on wheels in this picture, but I've since fixed that ;-) |

| Here's the basics of my Nitro Hawk (The tires are on the Clodhopper). I don't know whether I'm going to bother restoring it or not.
|
| The is my "Dirty Dart". A friend at work sold me the Tamiya Falcon chassis for really cheap. I rebuilt it with the parts I had in my kit and bought a new body for it (for a Desert T, whatever that is). I've since bought new tires for the Clodhopper so the Dirty Dart inherited the old ones for road use. I plane on keeping and repainting the original off-road rims and replacing the the original dry rotted tires.
The chassis I got still had the original reciever so I broke out my spare crystals and am using the remote for my lowered HPI Racer. |

| Here's the Clodhopper Revamped (told you it was reversable). I've upgraded the Tranny to a 2-speed.
